• ACCIDENTS AND SAFETY MEASURES <br />We ask the support of all employees in protecting one <br />another from injury or disability by exercising caution and <br />extreme care in the performance of their duties. All employees <br />must be alert to any hazardous condition which might cause harm <br />to themselves, their fellow workers, or visitors. Anyone notic- <br />ing such hazardous conditions should correct them immediately or <br />report them to their supervisor. Any foreign objects on floors <br />such as broken glass, paper clips, water or other fluids, should <br />be removed immediately by the first employee to detect them. In <br />addition, no equipment should ever be left in an open corridor <br />where they could cause hazardous situations. <br />All incidents must be reported promptly to your immediate <br />supervisor. <br />An incident is defined as "any happening which is not con- <br />sistent with routine operation of the City. It may be an acci- <br />dent or a situation which might result in an accident." <br />IN CASE OF ACCIDENT, NO MATTER HOW MINOR, YOU ARE REQUIRED <br />TO REPORT IMMEDIATELY TO YOUR SUPERVISOR. <br />INSTRUCTIONS IN CASE OF FIRE <br />The City is equipped with adequate fire -fighting equipment. <br />Be familiar with the location of the fire extinguishers in or <br />• near the department in which you work. Your Department Head <br />will instruct you in its operation. Always be alert to the pos- <br />sibility and source of fire hazards. Report them immediately <br />to your Supervisor. <br />DISASTER PLAN <br />All employees of this City are part of an organized plan <br />that has been prepared to help the City meet any emergency. <br />Check with your Supervisor for your part in the program, and <br />be sure you know what to do. <br />DEFINITIONS OF FULL TIME, PART TIME <br />AND OCCASIONAL EMPLOYEES <br />Full Time: <br />One whose regularly scheduled work week covers a minimum <br />of forty (40) working hours per seven day period, exclusive of <br />the one -hour lunch period. The employee must be able to meet <br />the requirements of his department, as to schedulue of time, <br />rotation of days off, holidays, etc. Full time employees are <br />entitled to all employee benefits provided by the City. <br />Part Time: <br />One who works less than forty (40) hours per week, but who <br />averages at least sixteen (16) hours per week. This employee <br />• may be employed to work specific days of a week or a specific <br />number of hours on given days. Part time employees are not <br />eligible for employee benefits. <br />3 <br />
