D. 516 0 <br />• THE STATE OF TEXAS Q <br />G KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS: <br />COUNTY OF HARRIS d <br />THAT, WHEREAS, by virtue of the Municipal Annexation <br />Act, House Bill No. 13, Acts of the 58th Legislature, Regular <br />Session, Chapter 160 (compiled by Vernon Law Book Compahy, and <br />published by it, as Art. 970a, V.A.C.S.), the Legislature of the <br />State of Texas provided for the several incorporated cities of <br />the State of Texas to exercise specified extraterritorial juris- <br />diction over territory without, but contiguous to, their respective <br />corporate limits, the geographical extent of which is governed by <br />the population of the particular_ incorporated city; and, <br />WHEREAS, the cities of Pasadena, Texas and La Porte, <br />Texas have previously, by the enactment of Ordinance No. 70-20, <br />passed by the City Council of the City of Pasadena on February 3, 1970, <br />and by the enactment of Ordinance No. 847, passed by the City Com- <br />mission of the City of La Porte on February 9, 1970, apportioned the <br />extraterritorial land existing within the extraterritorial overlap <br />jurisdiction of the City of Pasadena and City of La Porte; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of the cities of Pasadena, Texas <br />and La Porte, Texas to amend this extraterritorial agreement now <br />• existing between the two cities so as to enable the City of Pasadena <br />to annex to its territorial limits: <br />1. The area of land owned and possessed by the San Jacinto <br />College, consisting of 141 acres, more or less. <br />2. The area of land owned by the City of Pasadena, designated <br />as the Civic Center_ Site, and containing 80.8 acres of land, more or <br />less. <br />3. The area of land owned by the City of Pasadena, and designated <br />as the Park -Rodeo Grounds, and containing 24.814 acres of land; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Cities of Pasadena, Texas, <br />and La Porte, Texas, to amend this extraterritorial agreement now <br />existing between the two cities so as to enable the City of La Porte <br />Pg. 3S <br />
