• • ~ , WHEREAS, the firm of Hugh L. Landrum and Associates, Inc., has proposed to the City of La Porte, Texas, that a new contract be entered into between that firm and the City of La Porte, said contract to cover a complete reappraisal of all taxable real property and land, and the gathering and compiling of informa- tion relating to the values of the properties above identified as of January 1, 1981, and to up-date the industrial property values subject to Industrial District contracts as of January 1, 1982, and January 1, 1983, and make this information available to the City Tax Assessor-Collector and the Board of Equalization to be used as they may see fit in determining the values which should be assigned to said properties properly coming before them for consideration and within its • jurisdiction for tax purposes in the City of La Porte, Texas, for each of the years 1981, 1982 and 1983, for the sum of FORTY-FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS ($44,000.00) per year for each of the calendar years 1981, 1982 and 1983. IT IS THEREFORE AGREED by and between the City of La Porte, Texas, acting herein by its duly authorized Mayor and City Commission, FIRST PARTY, and the firm of Hugh L. Landrum and Associates, Inc., of Houston, Harris County, Texas, SECOND PARTY as follows: THE SECOND PARTY AGREES TO: 1. Inspect, measure as necessary, classify, and appraise all residential and com- mercial buildings within the City of La Porte for tax year 1981. 2. Inspect and appraise all taxable lots and acreage within the City for the tax year 1981. • 3. Inspect and appraise each industrial plant located within the City of La Porte, or either of the Industrial Districts for City taxes and "in lieu of taxes" payments for each of the years 1981, 1982 and 1983. 4. Inspect and appraise all utilities, railroads, and pipelines located within the City as necessary for City taxes or "in lieu of taxes" payments for each of the years 1981, 1982 and 1983. • 5. Prepare a permanent record card on each parcel of land included in Item 2 above for the City tax office. These records will contain the property description, recommended land valuation, and how determined, a dimensional sketch of any improvements on the land, complete with details of construction, recommended values for the improvement and how determined, and any other data pertinent to the particular property. -2-
