• <br />• ~ , <br />WHEREAS, the firm of Hugh L. Landrum and Associates, Inc., has proposed <br />to the City of La Porte, Texas, that a new contract be entered into between that <br />firm and the City of La Porte, said contract to cover a complete reappraisal of <br />all taxable real property and land, and the gathering and compiling of informa- <br />tion relating to the values of the properties above identified as of January 1, <br />1981, and to up-date the industrial property values subject to Industrial District <br />contracts as of January 1, 1982, and January 1, 1983, and make this information <br />available to the City Tax Assessor-Collector and the Board of Equalization to be <br />used as they may see fit in determining the values which should be assigned to <br />said properties properly coming before them for consideration and within its <br />• jurisdiction for tax purposes in the City of La Porte, Texas, for each of the <br />years 1981, 1982 and 1983, for the sum of FORTY-FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS ($44,000.00) <br />per year for each of the calendar years 1981, 1982 and 1983. <br />IT IS THEREFORE AGREED by and between the City of La Porte, Texas, acting <br />herein by its duly authorized Mayor and City Commission, FIRST PARTY, and the firm <br />of Hugh L. Landrum and Associates, Inc., of Houston, Harris County, Texas, SECOND PARTY <br />as follows: <br />THE SECOND PARTY AGREES TO: <br />1. Inspect, measure as necessary, classify, and appraise all residential and com- <br />mercial buildings within the City of La Porte for tax year 1981. <br />2. Inspect and appraise all taxable lots and acreage within the City for the tax <br />year 1981. <br />• 3. Inspect and appraise each industrial plant located within the City of La Porte, <br />or either of the Industrial Districts for City taxes and "in lieu of taxes" <br />payments for each of the years 1981, 1982 and 1983. <br />4. Inspect and appraise all utilities, railroads, and pipelines located within <br />the City as necessary for City taxes or "in lieu of taxes" payments for each of <br />the years 1981, 1982 and 1983. <br />• 5. Prepare a permanent record card on each parcel of land included in Item 2 <br />above for the City tax office. These records will contain the property <br />description, recommended land valuation, and how determined, a dimensional <br />sketch of any improvements on the land, complete with details of construction, <br />recommended values for the improvement and how determined, and any other data <br />pertinent to the particular property. <br />-2- <br />
