The reports will provide feedback concerning <br />. top management views on major issues. <br />Computer~Review rival Report, Ten (10) copies of the report <br />are to be provided. <br />The scope of work will be as follows: <br />Review the overall systems and data processing requirements <br />throughout the City and to evaluate alternative approaches to <br />satisfy these needs. <br />1. Review the present data processing systems 'to establish costs, <br />identify problems, and determine processing methods that are <br />being used. <br />2. Interview key personnel in all City departments in order to <br />determine their information requirements. <br />3. Summarize the various systems that are required to include narrative <br />descriptions, possible development methods and related costs, and <br />general features of each application. <br />1+. Review service bureau and in-house computer alternative methods of <br />• satisfying coinpu•ter processing requirements. • <br />5. Determine data processing staff requirements and review the overall <br />personnel impacts resul~ti.ng from the new system. <br />6. Document the finding in a long-range systems plan that identifies <br />priorities and schedules for hiring the necessary personnel and <br />acquiring the required software and computer equipment. <br />7. Prepare request-for-proposal (RFP) and submit to potential hardware <br />and software vendors. <br />8. Investigate the type of purchase that will be most beneficial to the <br />City, :straigh•t purchase, lease/purchase, lease. <br />9. Outline program implementation. <br />10. Evaluate proposals received from firms. <br />11. Make specific x•ecommendations for hardware and software. <br />12. The study is not limited to the above items.
