____ .; <br />• • <br />SCOPE OF SERVICES <br />LA PORTE AREA WATER AUTHORITY <br />FEASIBILITY STUDY FOR LONG-RANGE POTABLE WATER SUPPLY <br />INTRODUCTION <br />The primary objective of this study is to develop a sound tech- <br />nical basis for development of a Water System Master Plan for the <br />La Porte Area Water Authority. This study will determine water supply <br />requirements of the service area of the La Porte Area Water Authority <br />and will then be utilized to prepare an integrated water system. A <br />premium will be placed on proposing a system compatible with the <br />fiscal capabilities of the Authority and its potential customers. <br />The study will be conducted in distinct steps to assure that the <br />final product reflects the current input of the La Porte Area Water <br />Authority. Periodically, progress meetings will be held with the <br />Board to ensure timely input. The tasks to be accomplished in the. <br />study are presented below. <br />PROJECT TASKS <br />Task 1.0 - Baseline Data Collection <br />The Engineer will collect basic information on the existing <br />system, water consumption, land use, and population. This data <br />will be utilized as a base for the remainder of the planning study. <br />Task 1.1 - Land Use and User Classification <br />Engineer will collect and map existing land-use data. The <br />land use will be classified in user groups having similar water <br />demands. Information which impacts land-use patterns will also <br />be collected. This information will include such items as <br />existing and planned thoroughfares, wastewater utilities, <br />geographic physical features, and governmental jurisdiction maps. <br />Task 1.2 - Population Demographics <br />Engineer will prepare a land use and population projection . <br />for the area within the boundaries of the La Porte Area Water <br />Authority.
