<br /> <br />• <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br />AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THE INTENTION OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE TO <br />INSTITUTE PROCEEDINGS TO ANNEX C ERTAIN TERRITORY; CALLING A PUBLIC <br />HEARING AT WHICH ALL INTERESTED PARTIES SHALL HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY <br />TO BE HEARD; PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION OF NOTICE OF SUCH HEAR- <br />ING BY THE PUBLICATION OF THIS ORDINANCE; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH <br />THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE: <br />Section 1. The City Council of the City of La Porte hereby <br />declares its intention to institute annexation proceedings, to <br />annex the following described territory to the City of La Porte by <br />the passage of an ordinance of annexation extending the general <br />corporate limits of the City of La Porte for all purposes to include <br />within such territory all of the following described territory now <br />situated within the exclusive extraterritorial jurisdiction of <br />the City of La Porte. As used herein, the term extraterritorial <br />jurisdiction shall have the same meaning ascribed to it as is <br />ascribed to it in the Municipal Annexation Act of 1963, compiled <br />as Article 970a, Vernon's Annotated Texas Statutes: <br />Section 2. The City Council of the City of La Porte hereby <br />directs the City Manager and City Departments to prepare a proposed <br />Service Plan that provides for the e xtension of municipal services <br />into each area to be annexed.
