F. <br />G. <br />H. <br />I. <br />J. <br />• <br />Procurement <br />1. Procurement shall follow the guidelines established in <br />the La Porte Purchasing Manual. <br />2. Procurement shall be accomplished through the Purchasing <br />Agent for the City of La Porte. <br />Safety <br />1. The Project Manager will see that an accident prevention <br />program is maintained on a project by contractors as <br />required in the general conditions of the contract. <br />2. The City Safety Inspector will review projects where <br />City labor and equipment are utilized. <br />Legal Services <br />Matters of legal concern shall be presented to the City <br />Attorney only after approval of the CIP management team. <br />Labor Relations <br />The Project Manager shall verify that the contractors have <br />filed required Affirmative Action Statements and Wage <br />Compliance Statements. <br />Public Relations <br />The Administrative Assistant assigned to the City Manager's <br />office shall have the responsibility for establishing the <br />public relations program in relation to the Capital <br />Improvement Projects. Consistent communication regarding the <br />status of the various developing projects shall be maintained <br />with the community as a whole, as well as through the <br />identification of specific audiences. <br />The public relations program will utilize printed information <br />such as billboards located at project sites, newsletters and <br />special reports; as well as staff presentations to specific <br />audiances. An overall publicity campaign will be developed <br />including a logo and promotional theme to encourage citizen <br />enthusiasm as projects progress towards completion. <br />27 <br />
