•-_ ~r • • <br />Y~ <br />LAND AC UISITION FOR ALL CITY PROJECTS <br />POLICY OBJECTIVE: <br />To provide for an orderly flow plan to assure that land <br />acquisition for City projects are initiated only on approval <br />of the City Manager and/or City Council; to assure proper <br />input from all parties involved; to assure property is timely <br />acquired. <br />I. Guidelines <br />A. Department Heads shall identify the property required for a <br />project and submit the proposed site to the City Manager <br />through the Capital Improvements Program Coordination <br />Committee. (Committee consists of the involved unit, the <br />project manager, Director of Community Development, and the <br />Assistant City Manager.) <br />B. Upon reviewing the proposed site the City rianager will submit <br />the proposed site to the City Council for tentative approval. <br />C. The City Manager will request the City Attorney to coordinate <br />an appraisal of the property. <br />D. The Appraisal Report shall be taken to the Council by the <br />City Manager after the CIP Coordination Committee has <br />reviewed it and prepared a written recommendation for <br />purchase to the City Manager. <br />E. If the City Council approves purchase and/or condemnation the <br />City Manager will provide the City Attorney with a written <br />authorization to proceed with a landman to contact the <br />property owners. <br />Further Consideration: <br />Section K of the Capital Improvements Projects Manual shall <br />be revised to reflect this policy. <br />2/86 <br />
