Assist the City in obtaining approvals of all <br />regulatory agencies such as Harris County Flood Control District. <br />Approvals shall be obtained prior to submitting Final Design to <br />the City or as required by the regulatory agencies. <br /> <br />6. Complete design of pavement, width as finally <br />selected and req~ired grades. <br /> <br />7. Complete design, sizing, re-routing and adjustment <br />requirements of public utilities (City owned). <br /> <br />8. Notify franchise utilities of any conflicts with <br />proposed improvements. <br /> <br />9. Prepare preliminary construction drawings and <br />specifications for review by the City. <br /> <br />10. After review of preliminary construction drawings <br />and specifications, complete final construction drawings and <br />specifications and prepare contract documents. <br /> <br />11. Submit final contract documents to the City for <br />final review. <br /> <br />12. Upon final approval by the City, furnish City with <br />five copies of final contract documents, final detailed <br />construction cost estimate and mylar reproducibles of the <br />contract drawings. <br /> <br />13. For a period not to exceed three years from the <br />date of an engineering contract for this project with the City, <br />the Engineer will, without charge, except for special services <br />required, update the contract documents to reflect any changes of <br />topography occasioned by private or municipal construction. The <br />Engineer will also update the Construction Cost Estimate and <br />furnish the City five copies of updated contract documents and <br />cost estimate as required. Any changes caused by natural <br />phenomenon, i.e.: hurricanes, storms, earthquakes, etc., will be <br />updated at the City's request and at an agreed fee. <br /> <br />14. The Engineer will not proceed from one phase to the <br />next phase without written approval and authorization to proceed <br />by the City of La Porte. <br /> <br />Page 4 of 16 <br />
