However, these maps were <br />prepared before the 1985 channel <br />improvements. The City has asked Harris <br />County for assistance in updating the <br />maps in this area. (See attached lett~r) <br /> <br />Utilities: <br /> <br />General location <br />attached. <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />utilities <br /> <br />is <br /> <br />Use of Alley: <br /> <br />The City has closed streets but retained <br />necessary utility easements to properly <br />maintain utilities that were in place at <br />the time of closing. <br /> <br />ExamDle: <br /> <br />When portions of "K" Street and 9th <br />Street were closed for La Quinta: <br /> <br />o Necessary utility easements were <br />retained. <br />o The type of surface improvement was <br />regulated. <br />o The C it Y reta ined the right to examine <br />and approve plans and specs for proposed <br />improvements. <br />o The City and/or it's franchised public <br />utilities were not obligated to restore <br />or repair surface improvements disturbed <br />as a resul t of rna intenance in the <br />easement. <br />o La Quinta's request was processed per <br />City policies prevailing at the time. <br />
