There is the potential to utilize the . conservation setback as an attraction for the restaurant. This area might become a positive attraction, outdoor eating, etc. for the restaurant. In return, McDonald's might assume responsibility for the landscaping. This could relieve Harris County and the City of La Porte of this burden while preserving the spirit and intent of the conservation area. In addition the extension of pedestrian trails envisioned by the Comprehensive Plan could be accomplished. This idea has been discussed with the representative of McDonald's. Perhaps the 8' -1 0' of flood control right-of-way could be landscaped along with approximately 10' of the alley way, with McDonald's assuming responsibility for maintenance of these items. Sidewalks along Fairmont Parkway will be required as per the Development Ordinance and the Comprehensive Plan.
