Box 838
Baytown, Texas 77522
Gentlemen:
The City of La Porte is in receipt of your Customer Notice, advising
of the passage of Senate Bill 1519, "Mandated regional and local
solid waste management plans," and establishing a fee of $.17 per
compacted cubic yard of waste that is landfilled, effective January
1, 1990.
The City of La Porte recognizes its obligation to pay this fee to
Hazelwood Enterprises, Inc., which in turn will remit the fee to the
Texas Department of Health.
However, rather than adjusting the prices in the contract, the City
of La Porte requests that each invoice from Hazelwood to the City of
La Porte compute and bill this fee, asa separate line item, based
on the compacted cubic yards of waste multiplied by $.17 per
compacted cubic yard and $.l& per uncompacted cubic yard. This will
avoid future confusion which might result, if this fee is now
integrated into°the price, and later used in computation of cost of
living price indexing.
If Hazelwood Enterprises, Inc. is
matter, please sign and return one
of La Porte, keeping the original
our agreement.
ACCEPTED AND AGREED:
HAZELWQQt.,ENTERPR•ISES, I C.
B
Ge B.
