<br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />CITY OF LA PORTE THOROUGHFARE PLAN <br /> <br />The following information was excerpted from the City of La <br />Porte Thoroughfare. This plan is a component of the City's <br />Comprehensive Plan. The complete Thoroughfare Plan is contained <br />in Volume I (pgs 1-12 through 1-29) of the Comprehensive Plan. <br /> <br />The proposed Thoroughfare Plan is a principal component of <br />the La Porte Master Plan, addressing the specific circulation <br />needs and proposed land-use requirements. Principal objectives <br />of the Thoroughfare Plan are to: <br /> <br />o <br /> <br />increase accessibility to <br />the local street system <br />system, <br /> <br />and from La Porte by tying <br />to the regional thoroughfare <br /> <br />o <br /> <br />maximize <br />the street <br /> <br />mobility within the community by separating <br />system local traffic from through traffic, <br /> <br />o link major activity anc employment centers in order to <br />reduce local travel times, <br /> <br />o discourage heavy truck traffic destined to Barbours <br />Cut, industrial areas in the City's extraterritorial <br />limits, and industrial areas within city limits from <br />using local city thoroughfares, and <br /> <br />o provide the necessary thoroughfare capacities to serve <br />adequately future traffic growth. <br /> <br />Planning principles that govern the Thoroughfare <br />were adhered to during its development are: <br />thoroughfares, local streets should ~e indirect <br />discontinuous, discouraging through traffic. <br /> <br />Plan and <br />Unlike <br />and <br /> <br />Thoroughfares are generally classified by their capacity and <br />function. <br /> <br />Local Collectors These streets are four-lane <br />undivided local roads in which two lanes are moving <br />lanes and two lanes are designated for parking. Peak- <br />hour traffic capacity for these roads is in the range <br />of 400-600 vehicles per hour per lane. Intersections <br />on these thoroughfares are generally signed only at <br />1/4-mile intervals. The primary function of these <br />streets is to distribute local traffic within the <br />neighborhood areas. <br /> <br />EXHIBIT F <br />
