<br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />- Initiate chain of custody documentation for the <br />collected specimen and forward the specimen to the drug <br />testing laboratory for analysis. <br /> <br />17. If an applicant attempts to substitute or contaminate <br />his or her specimen to be tested, the employment process <br />will be terminated. Discipline up to and including <br />discharge or disbarment from the workplace will apply to an <br />individual who attempts to substitute or contaminate his or <br />her specimen. <br /> <br />18. Each individual required to submit to drug testing <br />shall, as soon as practicable, provide the required <br />biological specimens for testing. Failure to meet this <br />responsibility is an offense subject to discipline up to and <br />including discharge or disbarment from the workplace. <br /> <br />B. Testing of Job Applicants, Employees and Contract <br />Employees <br /> <br />I. The City will perform biological testing of job <br />applicants as part of the routine pre-employment process. <br />Biological testing will also be made of employees and <br />designated contract employees: <br /> <br />- In reasonable cause situations. <br /> <br />- In post-accident situations. <br /> <br />When random or periodic testing is determined <br />appropriate to assure safe operations. <br /> <br />- Upon return of the individual to work following <br />suspension, layoff or extended leave of absence. <br /> <br />- Anytime during or following drug or alcohol <br />rehabilitation. <br /> <br />2. An individual's consent to submit to biological testing <br />is required as a condition of employment and the <br />individual's refusal to consent may result in disciplinary <br />action, including discharge.or disbarment from the <br />workplace, for a first refusal or any subsequent refusal. <br /> <br />C. Testing of Job Applicants <br /> <br />1. All applicants for employment are subject to drug and <br />alcohol testing as part of the routine pre-employment <br />selection process. <br /> <br />2. An applicant who declines to undergo testing or who <br />declines to cooperate in the administration of testing will <br />be dropped from consideration as a job candidate. <br />
