Council considered an ordinance approving and authorizing a <br />contract between the City of La Porte and Las Hadas Mexican <br />Restaurant, Inc., for concessions at Sylvan Beach Pavilion. <br /> <br />councilperson Porter excused himself from the Council table <br />for this item. <br /> <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1843 - AN ORDINANCE <br />APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF LA <br />PORTE AND LAS HADAS MEXICAN RESTAURANT, A INC., FOR CONCESSIONS <br />AT SYLVAN BEACH PAVILION; MAKING VARIOUS FINDINGS AND <br />PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE SUBJECT; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH <br />THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made by councilgerson Coooer to adopt Ordinance <br />1843 as read by the city Attorney. Second by councilperson <br />Maxwell. The motion carried, 8 ayes and 0 nays (Councilperson <br />Porter was away from the table). <br /> <br />Nays: <br /> <br />Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, <br />McLaughlin, Gay, Maxwell, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />None <br /> <br />Ayes: <br /> <br />The Mayor excused himself from the Council table and Mayor Pro <br />Tem Cooper presided. <br /> <br />11. Council considered authorizing the City Manager to sign a <br />certificate of Land Dedication for park use - Project # 48- <br />00378. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Counciloerson Gay to aoorove authorizinq <br />the City Manaqer to sign the certificate of Land Dedication. <br />Second by Councilperson Sutherland. The motion carried, 7 <br />ayes and 0 nays (Councilperson Porter and Mayor Malone were <br />away from the table). <br /> <br />Nays: <br /> <br />Councilpersons Sutherland, Thrower, McLaughlin, <br />Gay, Maxwell, Clarke and Mayor Pro Tem Cooper <br />None <br /> <br />Ayes: <br /> <br />12.
