• • I GALVESTON BAY WEEK RESOLUTION A RESOLUTION OF THE LA PORTE-BAYSHORE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, DECLARING MAY 25-31, 1992, AS OALVESTON BAY WEEK. WHEREAS, Galveston Bay is a natural resource of great proportions and provides important commercial, recreational, and ecological benefits to all the citizens of~the State of Texas; and WHEREAS, the United States Congress has declared Dalveston Bay to be a Nationally Significant Estuary; and WHEREAS, the Bay Day Steering and Honorary/Advisory Committees have been formed from representatives of commerce, navigation, recreation and conservation organizations to plan, conduct and support a public celebration of Galveston Bay scheduled for May 30 and 31, 199?, at Sylvan Beach Park and named BAY. DAY; and WHEREAS, the La Porte-Bayshore Chamber of Commerce has long recognized the many diverse benefits of Galveston Bay; Now, THEREFORE, BE iT RESOLVED BY THE LA PORTE-BAYSHORE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE: SECTION 1. The findings and recitations set out in the preamble to this Resolution are found to be true and correct and that they are hereby adopted by the La Porte-Bayshore Chamber of Commerce and made a part hereof for all purposes. SECTION ?. The La Porte-Bayshore Chamber of Commerce declares the week of May 25-31, 1992 to be Galveston Bay Week in recognition of the many benefits and beauty of Dalveston Bay. SECTION 3. That the La Porte-Bayshore Chamber of Commerce encourages all citizens to be aware of and enjoy the many Bay Day activities at Sylvan Beach Park on May 30 and 31,-1992. ,• ADOPTED this the 11th day of May 1992.
