The Vehicle Repla~cesncnt Fund has $4,4b1
applied toward the rc~lacement of tl-is vehicle.
Knapp Chevrolet was awarded the City contract to provide police vehicles. They have indic~.tad
that their have a vehicle which exceeds our specifications. After painting and adding push
bumpers and a fire extinguisher the cost would be 515,320 (The vehicles meeting our
speeifirations wee 1;13,429 each).
We also contacted Les ~Ildarlrs Chevrolet and Jos Camp Ford to detern~lne if another vehicle
more closely meeting our specifications could be found samewhec~e In the state, or if another
vehicle could be ordered. The ordering date 5or police package vehicles has passed and that is
no longer an option. Les Marks located one car in the state but stated that aftex adding
equipment to meet our specificadons, they cx~uld not be c;o;gYpetitive. Joe Camp Ford has a
police package vehicle on their lot. The cost of this vehicle after painting and adding push
burnpexs and a ire extiziguisher would be $14,063.25.
There would sot be a need to rebid this itean as it would fall under the exemptions of the
purchasing statute.
`The design of the Motor Pool Fund allows us to replace the damaged unit withrnrt causing a
financial burden on the fund.
