(Mayor Malone turned to <br />the ci ty Secretary, whose microphone is turned off, and <br />stated, "Let the record show Council asked me to take items <br />16, 17 and 20 to executive session for discussion, not to <br />table the items.") <br /> <br />16. Council considered an ordinance authorizing the City Manager <br />to execute a contract change order with Commodore Construction <br />for the Municipal Jail renovation project. <br /> <br />city Attorney read: ORDINANCE 94-2000 AN ORDINANCE <br />APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT CHANGE ORDER BETWEEN THE <br />CITY OF LA PORTE AND COMMODORE CONSTRUCTION, FOR RENOVATIONS <br />TO THE MUNICIPAL JAIL; APPROPRIATING NOT TO EXCEED $56,200.00 <br />TO FUND SAID CONTRACT; MAKING VARIOUS FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS <br />RELATING TO THE SUBJECT; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN <br />MEETINGS LAW; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Maxwell to approve Ordinance <br />94-2000 as read by the city Attorney. Second by councilperson <br />Clarke. Council considered a resolution of the city of La Porte <br />pledging support for the effective conservation and improved <br />management of the Galveston Bay Estuary and its critical <br />resources. <br /> <br />city Attorney read: RESOLUTION 94-07 - A RESOLUTION OF THE <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE PLEDGING SUPPORT FOR THE <br />EFFECTIVE CONSERVATION AND IMPROVED MANAGEMENT OF THE <br />GALVESTON BAY ESTUARY AND ITS CRITICAL RESOURCES. <br />
