Council considered an ordinance authorizing the City Manager to execute a contract change order with Commodore Construction for the Municipal Jail renovation project. city Attorney read: ORDINANCE 94-2000 AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT CHANGE ORDER BETWEEN THE CITY OF LA PORTE AND COMMODORE CONSTRUCTION, FOR RENOVATIONS TO THE MUNICIPAL JAIL; APPROPRIATING NOT TO EXCEED $56,200.00 TO FUND SAID CONTRACT; MAKING VARIOUS FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE SUBJECT; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. Motion was made by Councilperson Maxwell to approve Ordinance 94-2000 as read by the city Attorney. Second by councilperson Clarke. The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. Council considered a resolution of the city of La Porte pledging support for the effective conservation and improved management of the Galveston Bay Estuary and its critical resources. city Attorney read: RESOLUTION 94-07 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE PLEDGING SUPPORT FOR THE EFFECTIVE CONSERVATION AND IMPROVED MANAGEMENT OF THE GALVESTON BAY ESTUARY AND ITS CRITICAL RESOURCES.
