(32KB PDF*) <br />Immediately after graduation from law school, Dean <br />McGuire was appointed as assistant county attorney in <br />Johnson County, where she concentrated in violent <br />crime prosecution, particularly sexual and domestic <br />assault and child abuse. She served in that capacity <br />from 1982 - 1990, and as First Assistant County <br />Attorney from 1986 - 1990. From 1989 until 1996, <br />McGuire was a visiting and adjunct professor at the <br />University of Iowa Law College, teaching constitutional <br />law, criminal law, family law, domestic abuse law, and <br />trial advocacy. She has supervised the Prosecutor Intern <br />Program at the law school since 1983. <br />In 1996, McGuire was appointed Dean of Students at the <br />law college. In that capacity, she oversaw all aspects of <br />student affairs, including administering academic <br />regulations and academic advising, supervising exam <br />administration, arranging class and exam <br />accommodations for students with disabilities, <br />counseling students about academic, professional and <br />personal matters, administering the academic <br />dishonesty policy, staffing student affairs' committees, <br />and administering the orientation and faculty advising <br />http://www.law.uiowa.edu/faculty/linda-a-mcguire.php 2/19/2008 <br />
