Linda McGuire - The University of Iowa College of Law Page 2 of <br />programs. In 2007, she was appointed Associate Dean <br />for Public Service. In that capacity, she oversees the <br />important tasks of enhancing our outreach to the state <br />and developing public service and service learning <br />opportunities for our students. <br />McGuire is a consultant and trainer in domestic abuse <br />law, having worked with judges, lawyers, police, <br />probation officers and lay victim advocates. She has <br />authored or edited a number of publications on the <br />topic, including "Prosecution of Domestic Abuse in Iowa: <br />A Prosecution Manual," and the "Iowa Domestic Abuse <br />Bench Book," as well as training materials for judges, <br />clerks of court, prosecutors, victim advocates, and <br />attorneys on domestic abuse law and practice. From <br />1992 - 1994, McGuire directed the Pro Se Domestic <br />Abuse Assistance Project, designed to facilitate Iowa's <br />transition to vastly greater numbers of pro se filings for <br />domestic abuse protection orders. She is currently legal <br />counsel for the Iowa Coalition against Domestic Violence <br />and an advisor to the national Battered Women's Justice <br />Project. <br />*This download is a PDF file.
