<br />CITY OF LA PORTE <br />SPECIFICATIONS <br /> <br />RFP #07514 - WEBSITE DESIGN <br /> <br />I. INTRODUCTION: The City of La Porte, Texas (the "City") is seeking a qualified <br />professional website designer, developer, and hosting company (the "Firm") to design <br />and deploy a website for the City's Office of Economic Development. <br /> <br />A. City Overview: La Porte is located 35 miles from Houston bordering Galveston <br />Bay and the Houston Ship Channel. The City is committed to providing the highest <br />level of municipal services with integrity and efficiency. The City's Office of <br />Economic Development is committed to supporting the enhancement and <br />maintenance of a vibrant, diversified, and sustainable economy through the <br />attraction and support of businesses that will help achieve this mission. <br /> <br />B. Deadline: All proposals are due September 17, 2007 by 2:00 p.m. No late <br />submittals will be accepted. <br /> <br />II. SCOPE OF SERVICES <br /> <br />A. Website Development <br />1. Website Architecture: Provide a complete description of the tools and <br />techniques intended to construct the website, including: <br />a. Descriptions of proprietary in-house modules or systems <br />b. Commercial development toolsets and servers (such as Cold Fusion) <br />c. Development platforms (such as .Net) <br />d. Development languages <br />e. Methods for generating web pages <br />f. Any other backend systems <br />2. City Interaction: Describe Firm's intent for interacting with City Staff and <br />development process as it evolves <br />3. Desiqn Phase: During the design phase, the Firm will provide to the City at <br />least (2) prototype home pages and (2) interior page designs, demonstrating <br />the overall look and style of the website. The Firm will provide revisions to the <br />design of both the home and interior pages until accepted by the City. <br />4. Third Party Vendors: The City has existing agreements/contracts with various <br />third-party vendors that will need to be maintained through the transition to the <br />new website. <br />Software: The City currently holds licenses for and utilizes (AI and Brian to <br />comment here) for website editing. Firm shall specify any alternative software <br />and estimated license costs. <br /> <br />10 <br />
