Main Street Design Certificate is not required for the following: <br />Replacement of existing mechanical equipment <br />Repairing or repaving of flat concrete work in side and rear yard <br />Roofing work, if no change in appearance occurs i.e. color <br />Application for the Main Street Design Certificate: <br />1. Contact the Main Street Coordinator. <br />2. Application must be consistent with the City's Code of Ordinances, zoning. buildin <br />and fire codes and should include the following: <br />a. Completed application form <br />b. A scaled drawing by the project architect or design professional of all proposed work <br />c. Include samples such as paint, fabric swatches sign material etc <br />d. Furnish photographs of the building exterior, and any other site location <br />e. Additional submissions mqy be requested if deemed <br />f. Provide project estimates and any other items helpful in conveying vision <br />3. Main Street Design Assistance Review Team meets with applicant to assist with <br />design and submits its recommendation to the City Manager. <br />4. City Manager or designee renders decision in the case <br />Appeal. <br />Any person aggrieved by a decision of the City Manager or designee resulting from recommendation <br />of the Main Street Design Assistance Review Team (MS DART) relating to a Certificate of <br />appropriate design may, within 30 days of the date of the certified mail to the address shown on the <br />application, file a written application with the Planning and Zoning Commission for review of the <br />decision and the approval denial modification of or deviation from the Main Street Design <br />Certificate. The appeal application shall be set before the Commission in accordance to the Code of <br />Ordinances and the Commission's decision shall be final. <br />No vested interest. <br />No developer or property owner shall acquire any vested interest in this section or specific regulations <br />contained herein. This chapter and regulations may be amended or repealed by the City Council in the manner <br />provided by law. <br />Refer to articles IV, V, VI and VII of this chapter for further regulations and procedures. <br />(Ord.
