<br />First Nat. The City Secretary reported that the First National Bank of La Porte ~~
<br />Bank col- wished to replace certain retired Ca~aeron County Bonds with U.S. Gov-
<br />lateral ernment Bonds, put up as collateral for depository,and read a letter
<br />from the Bank setting out the description of the Bonds to be substituted.
<br />Motion by Boyle, second by Roarg, that the Mayor and City Secretary be
<br />authorized to write a letter to the First National Bank of La Porte,
<br />agreeing to the exchange of two Cameron County, Texas, 5~% Road Bonds,
<br />in the principal sum of X1,000.00 each for U.S. Treasury Notes No•56534,
<br />56535 & 56536 in the principal sum of X50.00 each,L?.S. Treasury Notes,
<br />No.8l~1,65 & 8li166, in the principal sum of X100:00 each,U.S. Treasury
<br />Bond No.137943c i3~ the principal sum of X100.00, Home oAners Loan Corp.
<br />No.M750278, in the principal sum of "~1,000.OO,Home Owners Loan Corp. No.
<br />T1258391,T1258392,T1258393,T1258391~, each in the principal sum of $100.00
<br />Home Owners Loan Corp.No.AT153533C in the principal sum of X100.00 and
<br />Home Owners Loan Corp. No.R329810L for X50.00, a total of ~2,000.00~
<br />on security collateral for depository. Carried
<br />Cancelled The .City Secretary read a letter From the Manufacturer's Trust Co. ad-
<br />Bonds wising of the return by registered mail of City of La Porte Refunding
<br />Bonds Nos.8,9 & 10, due April 10,1938, in the principal sum of X1,000.00
<br />each, these bonds having been paid and cancelled. The cancelled Bonds
<br />were turned over to the Mayor.
<br />On motion by Boyle, second by Ruff. and passed by those present, the Mayor
<br />was authorized to 8estroy by fire, City of La Porte Refunding Bonds Nos.
<br />8,9 and i0, due April 10,1938., each in the principal sum of X1,000.00,
<br />with Alderman Agee acting as a witness.
<br />Audit The Mayor presented the four copies of the audit submitted by Learned &
<br />Tapp, for the fiscal year ending March 31,1938.
<br />A~otioh by Boyl®, second by Agee, that the audit of Learned & Tapp be ac-
<br />cepted and planed on file and that the Mayor and City Secretary b® auth-
<br />orised to draw a warrant in payment of the bill for these services, Sub-
<br />mitted by Learned & Tapp in the amount of $125.00, as per their contract.

<br />Bills Motion by Agee, second by Roar]c, that. the bills of Jasper Christy for $1.50,
<br />Cuvis Carey in the amount of X10.00 and W.E. Hooper in the amount of X7.50
<br />be approved and that warrants for these respective amounts be drawn.
<br />Carried.
