<br /> <br />Minutes, Regular Meeting, La Porte City Council <br />March 27, 1989, Page 3 <br />The City Attorney read: RESOLUTION 89-4 - A RESOLUTION URGING <br />THE TEXAS LEGISLATURE TO ADOPT LEGISLATION WHICH WILL PROHIBIT <br />THE IMPOSITION OF A MUNICIPAL INCOME TAX, AND PROVIDING FOR AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Skelton to approve Resolution <br />89-~ as read by the City Attorney. Second by Councilperson <br />Cooper. The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Waters, Cooper, Matuszak, Porter, Shipp, <br />Gay, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />11. Council considered approving a resolution commending Robert <br />Lanier. <br />The City Attorney read the resolution. <br />Motion was made by Council,~erson Gak to an <br />89-5 as read by the City Attorney. Second <br />Matuszak. Councilperson Porter questioned <br />"national" in the third paragraph. It was <br />should actually be "natural" and the resol <br />corrected accordingly. Council considered awarding a bid for golf course equipment. <br />
