Council considered an ordinance authorizing issuance of an <br />alcoholic beverage license for Two Cajuns Cafe and Meat <br />Market. <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1000-Y - AN ORDINANCE <br />AMENDING ORDINANCE N0. 1000 OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS, <br />DESIGNATING THE AREAS WHERE BEER FOR CONSUMPTION ON PREMISES <br />MAY BE SOLD Af1D PROHIBITING THE SALE ELSEWHERE; PROVIDING FOR <br />HOURS OF OPENING AND CLOSING; DEFINING SOURCE OF AUTHORITY; <br />PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; PROVIDTNG THAT NO LICENSE SHALL BE <br />ISSUED EXCEPT FOR THE AREAS HEREIN DESIGNATED; FINDING <br />COP9PLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; PROVIDING A <br />SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />_Motion was made by Councilperson Clarke to adopt Ordinance <br />1000-Y as read by the Citv Attorney. CounciJ_ considered approving property tax refunds for <br />overpayments exceeding $500.00. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Skelton to approve tax refund <br />payments to Wharton Weems Estate in the amount of $844.56 and <br />rime Cable Fort Bend in the amount of $586.50. Second by <br />Councilperson Clarke. Council considered declaring an emergency and authorizing <br />repair of a damaged ambulance. <br />
