Council considered appointing members to the City of La Porte <br />Electrical Board. <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1590 - AN ORDINANCE <br />APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE CITY OF LA PORTE ELECTRICAL BOARD; <br />CONTAINING A REPEALING CLAUSE; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE <br />OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Waters to adopt Ordinance <br />1590 as read by the City Attorney. Second by Councilperson <br />Cooper. The motion carried, 7 ayes and 0 nays (Councilperson <br />Matuszak had not.yet arrived). <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Waters, Cooper, Shipp, Gay, Skelton, <br />Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />10. Council considered an ordinance appointing a Director, <br />Position 2, to the La Porte Area Water Authority. <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1653 - AN ORDINANCE <br />APPOINTING A MEMBER AS DIRECTOR, POSITION 2, OF THE LA PORTE <br />AREA WATER AUTHORITY, FOR A TERM TO EXPIRE SEPTEMBER 1, 1990; <br />CONTAINING A REPEALING CLAUSE; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE <br />OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Waters to adopt Ordinance <br />1653 as read by the City Attorney. Second by Councilperson <br />Cooper. Council considered an ordinance appointing members to the Fire <br />Code Review Committee. <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1654 - AN ORDINANCE <br />APPOINTING MEMBERS OF THE FIRE CODE REVIEW COMMITTEE; <br />PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; REPEALING ALL CITY OF LA <br />PORTE ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH <br />THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />
