Second by <br />Councilperson Clarke. The motion carried, 8 ayes and 0 nays. <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Waters, Cooper, Matuszak, Shipp, Gay, <br />Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Pro Tem Porter <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />14. Council considered approving the consent agenda as follows: <br />A. Award a bid for police uniforms; B. Award a bid for <br />concrete; C. Award a bid for cement stabilized sand; D. Award <br />a bid for chlorine; E. Award a bid for asphalt supplies; F. <br />Award a bid for automotive parts. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Counciloerson Waters to approve the consent <br />a~enda as presented. Second by Councilperson Matuszak. The <br />motion carried, 8 ayes and 0 nays. <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Waters, Cooper, Matuszak, Shipp, Gay, <br />Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Pro Tem Porter <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />15. Workshop Item: Council discussed the request of Councilperson <br />Gay for additional funds for the expansion of the Jennie Riley <br />Community Center. <br /> <br />Councilperson Gay and Director of Parks and Recreation Stan <br />Sherwood addressed Council on this item. Mr. Sherwood <br />presented three expansion plans and their costs. There was a <br />suggestion that perhaps revenue sharing funds could be used to <br />supplement the Harris County Community Development funds if <br />plan 3 were approved. It was agreed that an agenda item will <br />be placed on the July 11 agenda to address this matter. <br /> <br />16. Administrative Reports: The City Manager reminded Council <br />that there is a workshop scheduled for June 29 at 6:00 P.M. <br />He asked Council which date was set for the first economic <br />development public meeting, July 20 or July 27. Council <br />agreed to have the first public meeting on July 20. Janie <br />Bais will complete the information for the post cards and <br />invitations and get them to the printer's immediately. <br />
