D. Burgin, J. N• <br />Jolmsaa~, J. J. Roark, T. F. ~ith, City Atty. Kiibler, City Secy. <br />Christensen. <br /> Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. <br />Slaughter !l group of La Porte citizens again appeared before t17e Council and <br />H <br />R <br />House . <br />. <br />presented petition protesting to the Slaughter House built by <br />' Nickel on 1~th St. <br /> I+io~tion by Roarl~, second by Burgin, that the decision to bo made in <br /> rege}rd. to the `'laughter House be postponed until a full 8oun.eil is <br /> present. The 1:'Iayor asked for a voice vote which resulted. as follows <br /> Burgin, Yes, Jolulson, No, Roark, Yes, Smith, No. The Mayor declared <br /> the mot ion did not carry for ti~fant of major ity vote • <br />Taxicab Bi11y Crenshaw and Chester Dennis appeared before the Council aslting <br /> for a charter to run a Taxi Cab within the City Limits. The I~~ayaII <br /> appointed M. D. Burgin and T. F'. with as a camznittee to investigate <br /> this application for running a Taxicab. <br />' Bicycle Mr. P~ufus Honeycutt appeared before the Council in regard to bicycle <br />>f, Parking <br />~ ~ parking in front of the Port Theatre. The Mayor .turned the matter <br />~ <br />~ over tb •the Police Committee to work vrith bTr. Honeycutt. 2JIr. Honey- <br /> cutt also commended the Council on their appointment of IIov~.rd 1~T. <br /> Smith as Chief of Police for the City. <br />Bills D4otion by Roark second by Smith, that the folowing schedule of bills <br /> in the amount of ~301.1.~8 be allowed and ordered paid <br /> Amorican-LaFrance- Foarsite Corp. 9.81x. <br /> Bartle' s Pharmacy 3.1+0 <br /> Geo.
