Council was to consider an ordinance rezoning a 5.019 acre <br /> tract on the east side of Highway 146 at the Highway 225 <br /> intersection from commercial to industrial. <br /> This item was postponed until after the public hearing could <br /> be held. <br /> 8. Council considered an ordinance annexing certain territory <br /> situ~ted north of Fairmont Parkway and west of the Southern <br /> Pacific Railroad tracks. <br /> The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1422 - AN ORDINANCE <br /> EXTENDING THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS, <br /> TO EMBRACE AND INCLUDE CERTAIN TERRITORY SITUATED NORTH OF <br /> FAIRMONT PARKWAY, AND WEST OF THE SOUTHERN PACIFIC RAILROAD <br /> TRACKS; ANNEXING TO THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS, TERRITORY <br /> WITHIN SUCH BOUNDARIES; APPROVING A SERVICE PLAN FOR SUCH <br /> TERRITORY; PROVIDING FOR TEMPORARY ZONING CLASSIFICATION OF <br /> SUCH TERRITORY; MAKING FINDINGS AND OTHER PROVISIONS RELATED <br />. TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING SAVING AND SEVERABILITY CLAUSES. <br /> Mption was made bv Councilperson Matuszak to adont Ordinance <br /> ~22 as read bv the Citv Attornev. Second by Councilperson <br /> Skelton. The motion carried, 7 ayes and 0 nays. <br /> Ayes: Councilpersons Bridges, Matuszak, Waters, Pfeiffer, <br /> Skelton, Westergren, Malone <br /> Nays: None <br /> 9. Council considered a resolution approving an agreement with <br /> the La Porte Area Water Authority. <br /> City Manager Owen stated that he had given Council a <br /> replacement page in the resolution, replacing page 3. He <br /> asked that the amount of $6,000 be put in the blank on page 3 <br /> that refers to the amount the City Manager is authorized to <br /> remit to the Water Authority per million gallons. On page 3 <br /> of the agreement, the number to be used in the City's request <br /> is 4.5 million gallons of capacity. <br /> The City Attorney read: RESOLUTION 84-26 - A RESOLUTION OF <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS, APPROVING THE <br /> ENTRY INTO A CONTRACT WITH THE LA PORTE AREA WATER AUTHORITY <br /> PURSUANT TO AUTHORITY GRANTED TO SAID CITY BY THE INTERLOCAL <br />. <br />~ ~ <br />
