<br />DULY 8, 2002
<br />Call to Order
<br />The meeting was called to order by Mayor Norman Malone at 6:00 p.m.
<br />Members of City Council Present: Councilmembers Chuck Engelken, Howard Ebow,
<br />Peter Griffiths, Barry Beasley, James Warren, Charlie Young, Mike Mosteit, Bruce
<br />Meismer, and Norman Malone
<br />Members of Council Absent: None
<br />Members of City Executive Staff and City Employees Present: City Attorney Knox
<br />Askins, City Secretary Martha Gillett, Assistant City Secretary Sharon Harris, Assistant
<br />City Attorney Clarke Askins, Golf Course Manager Alex Osmond, Crime Prevention
<br />Officer Timothy Bird, Director of Finance Cynthia Alexander, Director of Administrative
<br />Services Carol Buttler, City Manager's Administrative Assistant Crystal Scott, Assistant
<br />Director of Finance Michael Dolby, Police Chief Richard Reff, Director of Public Works

<br />Others Present: Scott Summers, Doug Ashley, Bill Tanner, Charcy Wheeler, Charles

<br />Sue Gail Mock Kooken, Dave Turnquist and a number of other citizens.
<br />Mayor Norman Malone delivered the invocation.
<br />Mayor Norman Malone led in the Pledge of Allegiance.
<br />Council considered approving the Minutes of the Regular Meeting and Workshop Meeting
<br />on June 24, 2002.
<br />Motion was made by Councilmember Ebow to approve the Minutes of the Regular
<br />Meeting and Workshop Meeting on June 24, 2002. Second by Councilmember Beasley.
<br />The motion carried.
<br />Ayes: Engelken, Warren, Young, Mosteit, Meismer, Ebow, Beasley and Malone
<br />Nays: None
<br />Abstain: Griffiths
<br />PETITIONS, REMONSTRANCES, COMMUNICATIONS, AND CITIZENS AND
<br />TAXPAYERS WISHING TO ADDRESS CITY COUNCIL
<br />Scott Summers of 1102 Harrison, Arlington, Texas, (in place of Daryl Walker) advised
<br />Council of concerns regarding the Golf Cart Bid.
<br />Rudy and Penny Garcia of 3110 Oaken Lane, La Porte, Texas, voiced their concerns
<br />regarding disruptive noises, drainage issues which causes mosquito problems, and the
<br />poorly maintained bicycle race parks at Fairmont Park Baptist Church of 10401 Belfast,
<br />La Porte, Texas.
