Worsham of Second Baptist Church, 9025 Carlow Lane, La Porte, Texas <br />77571, addressed council in favor ofItem Number 10, paving and repair to Canada Road, <br />La Porte, Texas. <br /> <br />Mr. Nazar Momin of 6306 Hidden Crest Way, Sugar Land, Texas 77579, addressed <br />council regarding block #337 alley closing; he's in favor of closing. <br /> <br />Ms. Barbara Suber of 3902 Bonita, La Porte, Texas 77571, addressed council regarding <br />Bayport DEIS and Public Hearing. <br /> <br />617. Open Public Hearing -Mayor Malone opened the Public Hearing at 6:51 p.m. <br /> <br />Planning Director Doug Kneupper introduced City Planner Gwen Goodwin. Ms <br />Goodwin presented summary and recommendation of Special Conditional Use Permit <br />#SCU01-004 for Phase I of general office building. <br /> <br />Citizen Bill Athey of 102 Summer Winds spoke in favor of the Special Conditional Use <br />Permit #SCUO 1-004 for Phase I of general office building (32,006 sq. ft.) and detention <br />pond (26,000 sq. ft.) changing zoning classification to Planned Unit Development (PUD). <br /> <br />Staff recommended approval of the development. <br /> <br />Mayor Malone closed the Public Hearing at 6:59 p.m. <br /> <br />City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1501- TT - AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE <br />CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, CHAPTER 106, MORE <br />COMMONLY REFERRED TO AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF <br />LA PORTE, BY CHANGING THE ZONING CLASSIFICATION OF THAT CERTAIN <br />PARCEL OF LAND DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS, TO WIT: 2.8 ACRES, BEING THE <br />EAST HALF OF TR 718, AND TR 719, AND ADJOINING STREET, OUT OF LA <br />PORTE, HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS, TO PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT, WITH <br />A SPECIAL CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT A IT ACHED FOR THE DEVELOPMENT <br />OF PHASE I OF FAIRWOOD OFFICE PARK, WHICH INCLUDES A 26,000 SQ. FT. <br />DETENTION AND LANDSCAPE AREA AND A 32,006 SQ. FT. BUILDING; <br />MAKING CERTAIN FINDINGS OF FACT RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; FINDING <br />COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Ebow to approve Ordinance 1501-TT & SCU #01- <br />004 as presented bv Ms Goodwin. Second by Councilperson Engelken. The motion <br />carried. <br />
