• ~ ., <br />MINUTES - SPECIAL MEETING <br />OF THE <br />LA PORTS CITY COMM/SS/ON, LA FORTE, TEXAS <br />August 26, 1968 <br />7:00 P.M. <br />MEMBERS OF THE CQMMlSS/ON PRESENT: Mayor Pro-Tem Bobby J. Burgin, <br />Commissioners Charles Boyle, Lois J. Compton, and H. Gould <br />Crofoot. <br />MEMBERS OF THE CQMM/SS/ON ABSENT: Mayor H. P. Pfeiffer. <br />OTHER CITY OFF/C/ALS PRESENT: City Clerk Marilyn Kelley, City Attorney <br />Knox W. Askins. <br />PRESIDING: Mayor Pro-Tem Burgin. <br />+ + + <br />1. The City Commission and the Planning and Zoning Commission held <br />a joint hearing to consider the re-zoning of the followtng: <br />Lots 16 thru 32, Block 616, Town of La Porte from R1 Residential <br />to Commercial. <br />Block 615 Town of La Porte from R1 Residential to Commercial. <br />Mr. W. E. Gwatney, Jr. spoke in favor the the re-zoning of Lots <br />16 thru 32, Block 616, Town of La Porte. He stated that Tex-A- <br />Mation Engineers, Inc. wish to build at that location. <br />Fire Chief Jack Oliphant stated that the La Porte Volunteer Fire <br />Department requested the re-zoning of Block 615, Town of La Porte <br />to allow the construction of a combination recreation and drtll <br />building. <br />No objections were stated to either request. <br />Commissioner Boyle made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Compton, <br />that the hearing be closed. Motion carried. <br />+ + + <br />2. A motion was made by Commiss{over Crofoot, seconded by Commissioner <br />Compton and carried, that Ordinance No. 797 be passed on ftrst <br />and final reading. <br />CAPTION: <br />AN ORDINANCE PRESCRIBING RATES TO BE CHARGED FOR DISTRIBUTION <br />AND SALE OF NATURAL GAS WITHIN THE CITY, AND REPEALING ALL <br />OTHER ORDINANCES Ol?
