~ ~ <br />MINUTES - SPECIAL MEETING <br />OF THE <br />LA PORTS CITY COMMISSION, LA PORTS, TEXAS <br />MARCH 30, 1970 <br />7:00 P.M. <br />MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION PRESENT: Mayor H. P. Pfeiffer, <br />Commissioners E. A. Thomas, Charles D. Boyle, Bobby J. Burgin, <br />and H. Gould Crofoot. <br />MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION ABSENT: None. <br />OTHER CITY OFFICIALS PRESENT: P.V.Werner, City Administrator; <br />Virginia Cline, City Clerk; Knox Askins, City Attorney; <br />Robert Cline, Director of Public Works and H. F. Freeman, <br />Chief of Police. <br />MEMBERSOF THE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION PRESENT: <br />Walter Roberson, Chairman, Mrs. Lois Compton, W. D. Shipp, <br />and Mrs. Virgil Dixon. <br />PRESIDING: Mayor Pfeiffer. <br />+ + + <br />The Commission convened in a Special Meeting at 7:00 P.M. <br />' March 30, 1970, for the purpose of a Public Hearing to <br />consider, 1) a proposed amendment to Ordinance No. 780, <br />the Zoning Ordinance of the City of La Porte, changing <br />the definition of "Front Lot Lines" as to pro erty front- <br />ing on Bayshore Drive facing Galveston Bay, 2~ re-zoning <br />of Outlot 30, Nebraska Syndicate from R-1 Residential to <br />Mobile Home Park. <br />The Public Hearing was opened by Mayor Pfeiffer, who <br />stated that all proceedings would be recorded on tape <br />and that the rule would be that the Petitioners and <br />others appearing on behalf of the amendment would be <br />permitted to speak first, then any that opposed the <br />amendment would be permitted to speak. <br />It was ascertained that a Public Notice of this <br />hearing was published in the official newspaper <br />of the city on March 12, 1970. <br />The following persons spoke in favor of the amendment: <br />i~ <br />Mr. L.
