~ • I <br />MINUTES - REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE <br />LA PORTS CITY COMMISSION, LA FORTE, TEXAS <br />DECEMBER 21, 1970 <br />7:00 P.M. <br />MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION PRESENT: Mayor H.Carlos Smith, <br />Commissioners E. A. Thomas, I. J. Kibodeaux and H.Gould Crofoot. <br />MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION ABSENT: Commissioner Bobby J. Burgin. <br />OTHER CITY OFFICIALS PRESENT: P. V. Werner, City Administrator; <br />Virginia Cline, City Clerk; Knox Askins, City Attorney; <br />Robert Cline, Director of Public Works and H. F. Freeman, <br />Chief of Police. <br />PRESIDING: Mayor Smith. <br />+ + + <br />Invocation was offered by Commissioner Thomas. <br />1. A Public Hearing was held to hear an application from <br />Air Products and Chemicals Inc., for a "Petition for <br />Variance". <br />Mayor Smith read the Petition for Variance from Air <br />Products and Chemicals Inc.,(See exhibt 1) then stated <br />he would first ask those favoring the variance to <br />speak and then those opposing the variance would be <br />permitted to speak. After which the petitioner <br />would be allowed ten (10) minutes for a summation <br />of their reasons for seeking the variance and those <br />opposing the variance would also be allowed ten (10) <br />minutes to summarize their opposition to the variance. <br />Those speaking in favor of the petition were: <br />Mr. G. G. Handley <br />Mr. F. E. Cody <br />Mr. A. A. Arsenseaux <br />• <br />
