<br />MINUTES - REGULAR MEETING <br />• OF THE <br />LA PORTE CITY COMMISSION, LA PORTE, TEXAS <br />MARCH 20, 1972 <br />7:00 P. M. <br />MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION PRESENT: Mayor H. Carlos Smith, <br />Commissioners E. A. Thomas, I. J. Kibodeaux, G. E. Sampson <br />and H. Gould Crofoot. <br />MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION ABSENT: None. <br />OTHER CITY OFFICIALS PRESENT: Dick Brown, City Administrator; <br />Virginia Cline, City Clerk; Robert Cline, Director of Public <br />Works; H. F. Freeman, Chief of Police and Jack Oliphant, <br />Fire Chief. <br />• PRESIDING: Mayor Smith. <br />+ + + <br />Invocation was offered by Commissioner Thomas. <br />1. Motion by Commissioner Crofoot, seconded by Comm. Sampson <br />to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of March 6, <br />192 as presented. Motion carried by the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Thomas, Kibodeaux, Sampson <br />and Crofoot. <br />NAYS: None. <br />+ + + <br />2. Mr. James Spradling addressed the Commission in regards <br />to the Peddlers and Solicitors Ordinance being more <br />,strenuously enforced and stated he felt soliciting <br />should be stopped regardless of what the ordinance says. <br />• <br /> <br />
