• <br />Minutes Regular Meeting <br />La Porte City Council <br />June 27, 1994, Page 4 <br />Director of Public Works Steve Gillett answered further <br />questions from Councilperson Porter regarding the item A. <br />Councilperson Clarke asked Director of Public Works Steve <br />Gillett to review item C, consider rejecting bids for items 1 <br />and 3, and award annual contract for items 2,4 and 5 to Cues, <br />Inc., for manhole chemical sealing material. After a short <br />discussion of item C, Council decided to vote on item C in <br />conjunction with the consent agenda. <br />Councilperson McLaughlin asked for a separate vote on item A <br />to award an annual contract for concrete and recommended that <br />Council award the bid to the local contractor. <br />Mr~t i c~r3 was made by Councilperson McLaughlin to award the <br />annum contract for concrete to Dorsett Brothers. Second by <br />Councilperson Gay. The motion carried, 7 ayes and 1 nay. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Cooper, Thrower, McLaughlin, Porter, <br />Gay, Maxwsll and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: Councilperson Clarke <br />agenda items Bj Can D as presented. Second by Councilperson <br />Maxwell. The motion carried, 8 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Cooper, Thrower, McLaughlin, Porter, <br />Gay, Maxwell, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />8. City Manager Robert T. Herrera had no administrative reports. <br />He asked, as a result of the action taken tonight, that the <br />City Attorney's office put together an ordinance indicating <br />the city's intentions of giving preference to local firms <br />whenever possible and to define what parameters will be used <br />in making such decisions. <br />9. Councilpersons Thrower, McLaughlin, Clarke, Cooper and Mayor <br />Malone brought items to council's attention. <br />10. Council adjourned into executive session at 6:32 P.K. to <br />discuss the following under V.A.T.S. - Article 6252-17, <br />Section 2(F) - (Land„Acquisition): Meet with the City Manager <br />regarding land acquisition(s); Section 2(Gj - (Personnel): <br />Meet with the City Manager regarding personnel matter(s). <br />Council returned to the table at 8:11 P.M. with no action <br />being taken. <br />
