The meeting was called to order by Mayor Malone at 6:00 P.M. <br />Members of Citv Council Present: Mayor Norman Malone, <br />Councilmembers Delbert Walker, John Lloyd, Ed Matuszak, Betty <br />Waters, Lindsay Pfeiffer, Deotis Gay, B. Don Skelton and Linda <br />Westergren <br />Members of Citv Council Absent: None <br />Members of City_Staff Present: City Manager Jack Owen, City <br />Attorney Knox Askins, City Secretary Cherie Black, Director of <br />Public Works Jerry Hodge, Assistant Director of Public Works <br />Steve Gillett, Chief Building Official David Paulissen, Police <br />• Chief Herb Freeman, Director of Parks and Recreation Stan <br />Sherwood, Director of Community Development John Joerns, <br />Assistant Fire Chief John Dunham, Administrative Assistant <br />Doug de la Morena <br />Others Present: Virginia Cline, Paula Bridges, Doug Latimer, <br />Richard Hare, Pam Smith of the Bayshore Sun, 14 citizens <br />2. The invocation was given by Mayor Malone. <br />3. Special presentations were given to~former Mayor Virginia <br />Cline and former Councilperson Paula Bridges. A plaque an a <br />resolution of commendation were presented to each of them. <br />4. The Mayor proclaimed National Building Safety Week. Chief <br />Building Official David Paulissen accepted the proclamation. <br />Under the emergency addendum, the Mayor read Resolution 85-6: <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTS, <br />TEXAS, OPPOSING THE PROPOSED MOBILE HOME LEGISLATION BY THE <br />TEXAS LEGISLATURE <br />Motion was made ~ Council ep rson G~ to adopt Resolution 85-6 <br />as read. Second by Councilperson Matuszak. The motion <br />carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br /> <br /> <br />
