<br /> <br />Minutes, Workshop and Special Called Meeting <br />La Porte City Council <br />July 21, 1986, Page 3 <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Waters, Matuszak, Pfeiffer, Skelton, <br />Westergren and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />7. The tax presentation due to be presented was not held due to <br />the City Manager's absence. <br />The emergency addendum was then addressed by Council. <br />1. Consider declaring an emergency and ratifying expenditure <br />for emergency repairs to Sylvan Beach Pavilion for damages due <br />to vandalism. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Waters to declare an <br />emergency due to Sylvan Beach vandalism and ratifv <br />expenditures in the amount of $8,000. Second by Councilperson <br />[destergren. The motion carried, 6 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Waters, Matuszak, Pfeiffer, Skelton, <br />Westergren and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />Council authorized John Joerns to accept a quote for a price <br />to cut away the deck leading to the pavilion, thus reducing <br />the accessibility into the building. The quote was less than <br />the $3,000 which would require going out for bids. <br />2. Consider posting reward for information leading to the <br />arrest and conviction of party or parties responsible for <br />destruction of property at Sylvan Beach Pavilion. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Skelton to offer a $1,000 <br />reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of <br />party or parties responsible for destruction of property at <br />Svlvan Beach Pavilion. Second by Councilperson Westergren. <br />The motion failed, 2 ayes and 4 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Skelton and Westergren <br />Nays: Councilpersons Waters, Matuszak, Pfeiffer and Mayor <br />Malone <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Matuszak to offer a $500 <br />reward. Second by Councilperson Waters. The motion carried, <br />6 ayes and 0 nays. <br />
