<br />• <br />Minutes, Special Called Meeting and Joint Workshop Meeting <br />July 15, 1991, Page 2 <br />Mgt' ~ ^*+ was made by Councilperson Skelton to adopt Ordinance <br />1765 as read by the Mayor with the amendment that the Mavor <br />hp authorized to execute the document rather than the City <br />Manager as stated in the ordinance. Second by Councilperson <br />Cooper. The motion carried, 7 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, <br />McLaughlin, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />3. The special called meeting was adjourned and the joint <br />workshop was called to order. <br />4. Fire Marshal Paul Hickenbottom introduced members of the Fire <br />Code Review Committee who were present. He then reviewed the <br />proposed amendments to the La Porte Fire Code, including <br />showing slides and videos of various aboveground fuel storage <br />tank systems. <br />At the conclusion of Mr. Hickenbottom's presentation, Chairman <br />of the Fire Code Review Committee Delbert Walker addressed <br />Council to recommend that Council approve these proposed Fire <br />Code changes and to place the item on the next agenda for <br />action. <br />During the presentation, Mayor Malone left at 7:17 P.M. to <br />attend another meeting; he turned the meeting over to Mayor <br />Pro Tem Bob McLaughlin. <br />Mayor Pro Tem McLaughlin asked if placing the item on the July <br />22 agenda was amenable to the Council. They indicated that <br />it was, and Mayor Pro Tem McLaughlin stated that we will work <br />on getting it on the next agenda. <br />5.
