Council considered an ordinance adding the Bayshore Municipal <br /> Utility District territory, annexed by Ordinance 1626, to City <br /> Council District 5. <br /> The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1627 - AN ORDINANCE ADDING <br /> THE TERRITORY COMPRISING THE FORMER BAYSHORE MUNICIPAL UTILITY <br /> DISTRICT, TO CITY COUNCIL DISTRICT #5; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH <br /> THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> Motion was made bv COllnciloerson Skelton to adoot Ordinance <br /> 1627 as read bv the Citv Attorney. Second by Councilperson <br /> Clarke. The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br /> Ayes: Councilpersons Waters, Cooper, Matuszak, Porter, Shipp, <br /> Gay, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br /> Nays: None <br />8 . Council considered an ordinance closing "I" Street. <br /> The Mayor announced that a request had been made to defer this <br /> item to the January 9 meeting. <br /> Motion was made bv Counciloerson Waters to table Item 8. <br /> Second by Councilperson Skelton. The motion carried, 9 ayes <br /> and 0 nays. <br /> Ayes: Councilpersons Waters, Cooper, Matuszak, Porter, Shipp, <br /> Gay, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br /> Nays: None <br />9 . Council considered an ordinance authorizing and approving <br /> destruction of certain City records. <br /> The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1629 - AN ORDINANCE <br /> PROVIDING FOR THE DESTRUCTION OF CERTAIN ORIGINAL PUBLIC <br /> RECORDS; DIRECTING THE CITY SECRETARY OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE <br /> TO NOTIFY THE STATE LIBRARIAN OR STATE ARCHIVIST OF THE <br /> PROPOSED DESTRUCTION OF SAID RECORDS; MAKING CERTAIN FINDINGS <br /> OF FACT PERTINENT TO THE DESTRUCTION OF SAID RECORDS; AND <br /> FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW AND PROVIDING <br /> FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> Motion was made bv Counciloerson Gav to table this item until <br /> Januarv. Second by Councilperson Skelton.
