~ ~ <br />Minutes, Regular Meeting, La Porte City Council <br />July 9, 1990, Page 2 <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Sutherland to bring this item <br />back to the table. Second by Councilperson Porter. All in <br />favor. <br />The ordinance was reviewed by Police Chief Charles Smith. <br />Questions and comments from Council followed. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Porter, for discussion <br />purposes, to adopt Ordinance 1704. Second by Councilperson <br />Clarke. <br />After more discussion and suggestions, motion was made by <br />Councilperson Gay to table this item and bring it to workshop <br />session on July 16. Second by Councilperson Porter. The <br />motion carried, 8 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Matuszak, <br />McLaughlin, Porter, Gay, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />7. Council considered an ordinance vacating, abandoning and <br />closing a drainage easement, 16 feet wide, across a portion <br />of Texas Avenue. <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1711 - AN ORDINANCE <br />VACATING, ABANDONING, AND CLOSING A DRAINAGE EASEMENT, 16 FEET <br />WIDE, ACROSS A PORTION OF TEXAS AVENUE IN THE CITY OF LA <br />PORTE; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND <br />PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson McLaughlin to adopt Ordinance <br />1711 as read by the City Attornev. Second by Councilperson <br />Sutherland. The motion carried, 8 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Matuszak, <br />McLaughlin, Porter, Gay, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />8. Council considered an ordinance ratifying and confirming <br />alignment of Old La Porte Road. <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1712 - AN ORDINANCE <br />RATIFYING AND CONFIRMING THE ALIGNMENT OF OLD LA PORTE ROAD, <br />IN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE; FINDING <br />COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Gay to adopt Ordinance 1712 <br />as read by the City Attornev. Second by Councilperson Clarke. <br />The motion carried, 8 ayes and 0 nays. <br />
