Council considered approving renewal of operations agreement <br />with La Porte Area Water Authority. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Gay to approve renewal of the <br />operations agreement with the La Porte Area Water Authority. <br />Second by Councilperson McLaughlin. The motion carried, 8 <br />ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Cooper, Matuszak, McLaughlin, Porter, <br />Gay, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />12. Council received a report from the City Manager on the status <br />of the Sylvan Beach fishing pier. <br />Several meetings with Precinct Two representatives have been <br />held. The County is interested in a joint venture whereby <br />they will furnish material (Tek Dek) and the city furnish <br />labor to rebuild the pier and lease it from the County. <br />Council gave direction to the City Manager to pursue this. <br />13. Administrative Reports: <br />Bob Herrera reported that "Sounds Like Fun" was very <br />successful, with 376 persons attended. Also, the <br />Uninterrupted Power Supply for the Data General equipment was <br />installed on Monday. Budget Workshops will be held August 14, <br />15 and 16. He will be on vacation July 25 through 31. He <br />also announced that Janie Bais has taken a position as Village <br />Manager in Holly, Michigan. <br />Steve Gillett presented a report on recycling being done by <br />the City of La Porte. A copy was distributed to Council. <br />14. Council Action: Councilpersons Cooper, Matuszak, McLaughlin, <br />Porter, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone brought items to <br />Council's attention. <br />15. The executive session had been held previously. <br />
