• <br />Minutes, Public Hearing and Regular Meeting <br />La Porte City Council <br />September 10, 1990, Page 2 <br />6. The following citizens addressed Council: Bill Bentley, <br />regarding stop signs on Myrtle Creek; Heiko Mahlstedt, <br />regarding vandalism, overgrown lots, and youth on the streets <br />after 11:00 P.M. in his neighborhood; Lisa Honeycutt, thanking <br />the City for the efforts made to save the tree in the 200 <br />block of Main Street and for putting money in the budget to <br />help renovate Main Street. <br />7. Council considered an ordinance approving and adopting City <br />of La Porte FY 1990-91 budget. <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1715 - AN ORDINANCE <br />APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE BUDGET FOR THE CITY OF LA PORTE, <br />TEXAS, FOR THE PERIOD OF OCTOBER 1, 1990 THROUGH SEPTEMBER 30, <br />1991; FINDING THAT ALL THINGS REQUISITE AND NECESSARY HAVE <br />BEEN DONE IN PREPARATION AND PRESENTMENT OF SAID BUDGET; <br />FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING <br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />Motion was__made bv.Councilperson Porter to adopt Ordinance <br />1715 as read by the City Attorney. Second by Councilperson <br />Gay. The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Matuszak, <br />McLaughlin, Porter, Gay, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor <br />Malone <br />Nays: None <br />8. Council considered approving a draft of official notice of <br />sale and official statement to be used in connection with $1.5 <br />million in general obligation bonds and $2.1 million in <br />revenue bonds, Series 1990. <br />Pete Fischer, the City's bond counsel, reviewed the statement <br />for Council. Council updated their elected officials <br />information. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Sutherland to approve the <br />draft of the official notice of sale and official statement <br />to be used in connection with the_sale of the bonds. Second <br />by Councilperson Cooper. The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 <br />nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Matuszak, <br />McLaughlin, Porter, Gay, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor <br />Malone <br />Nays: None <br />
