Council considered an ordinance changing the number of <br />authorized Civil Service positions. <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1285-I - AN ORDINANCE <br />AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1285, "AN ORDINANCE IMPLEMENTING <br />POLICEMEN'S CIVIL SERVICE; ESTABLISHING CLASSIFICATIONS; <br />NUMBER OF AUTHORIZED POSITIONS IN EACH CLASSIFICATION; <br />ESTABLISHING PAY SCHEDULES; CONTAINING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; <br />FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; CONTAINING A <br />REPEALING CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF." <br />Motion was made by Counc: <br />1285-I as read by the City <br />Gay. The City Manager announced the dates for a Council <br />retreat will be November 6, 7 and 8. A memo detailing <br />the retreat will be forthcoming. <br />B. John Joerns reported that the lift station 30 force main <br />diversion has been completed; County approval is needed <br />and expected soon. <br />C. Bob Herrera informed Council of a grant in the amount of <br />$10,000 from Southwestern Bell, to be used for <br />development of a "Bayfront Master Plan." <br />13. Council Action <br />Councilpersons McLaughlin, Porter and Gay brought items to <br />Council's attention. <br />
