• <br />Minutes, Regular Meeting, La Porte City Council <br />September 28, 1992, Page 5 <br />14. Council adjourned into executive session at 6:55 P.M. under <br />V.A.T.S. - ARTICLE 6252-17, SECTION 2(G) - (PERSONNEL), to <br />discuss the following: (A) Discuss appointment to Zoning <br />Board of Adjustment; (B) Receive report from City Manager <br />regarding personnel matters. Council returned to the table at <br />7:23 P.M. No action was taken during the executive session. <br />Council then addressed item 8: Consider ordinance appointing <br />member to fill unexpired term, Position 2, on La Porte Zoning <br />Board of Adjustment. <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1863 - AN ORDINANCE <br />APPOINTING A MEMBER TO FILL THE UNEXPIRED TERM OF STEVE HINES, <br />POSITION 2, ON THE LA PORTE ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT, TO <br />EXPIRE MAY 30, 1994; CONTAINING A REPEALING CLAUSE; FINDING <br />COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Clarke to adopt Ordinance <br />1863 as read by the City Attorney, appoint Bob Capen to fill <br />the unexpired term of Steve Hines, and seek an alternate to <br />fill Bob Capen's vacated position. Second by Councilperson <br />Maxwell. The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, <br />McLaughlin, Porter, Gay, Maxwell, Clarke and Mayor <br />Malone <br />Nays: None <br />15.
