Meeting called to order by Mayor Meza.at 7:00 P.M. <br />Members of the Council Present: Mayor J. J. Meza, Council- <br />persons Norman L. Malone, John Longley, Gus Faris, I. Don Skelton, Linda <br />Westergren <br />Members of the Council Absent: None <br />® Members of Planning and .Zoning Commission Present: Chair- <br />person Pat Muston, Dallie Wright, Ragan Franks <br />Members of Planning and Zoning Commission Absent: R. J. Black- <br />well, Karl Johnston, Lindsay Pfeiffer, Red Westen <br />Members of the City Staff Present: City Manager James R. <br />Hudgens, City Attorney Knox Askins, City Secretary Betty Waters, <br />Chief of Police H. F. Freeman, Director of Public Works Jerry <br />Hodge, Fire Chief Joe Sease, Head of Engineering John Joerns, <br />Fire Marshal Paul Hickenbottom, Parks Director Stan Sherwood <br />Others Present: Frieda Beaty, Baytown Sun; Betsy Webber, <br />Bayshore Sun; and 72 interested citizens <br />2. The invocation was given by City Attorney Knox Askins <br />3. Mayor Meza stated at this time the City Council and the Plan- <br />ning and Zoning Commission would hear from those present con- <br />cerning the rezoning of blocks 12 and 21 in the Nebraska <br />Syndicate, Town of La Porte, Harris County, Texas. The request <br />is to rezone this property from Commercial to Industrial with <br />a "Special Use Permit for Containers." <br />Mayor Meza asked if there was a quorum of Planning and Zoning <br />present. <br /> <br />
