<br />.' <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Ordinance No. 1028, Page 3. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />"Absentee voting by personal appearance shall begin <br />on the 20th day and shall continue through the 4th <br />day preceding the day of the election and shall be <br />conducted at the City Hall of the City of La Porte, <br />between the hour~ of nine o'clock (9:00) ~.M. and <br />five o'clock (5:00) P.M., Mondays through Fridays, <br />and on Saturdays from ten o'clock (10:00) A.M. until <br />two o'clock (2:00) P.M., except on legal holidays. <br /> <br />J,~,~ <br /> <br />I. Klbodeaux, M y0r Pro-Tern <br />of the City of La Po~te, Texas " <br /> <br />and further notice of said election shall be given by posting <br /> <br />a copy of this Ordinance at the City Hall for thirty (30) <br /> <br />days next preceding said election. <br /> <br />Section 7. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and <br /> <br />directed to give notice of said election in accordance with <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Section 6 hereof. <br /> <br />Section 8. Upon a candidate tendering his application <br /> <br />on the form prescribed, the City Clerk shall furnish to such <br />candidate all information relative to the qualifications for <br /> <br />the office being. sought, and the methods of placing the <br /> <br />candidate's name on the ballot. <br /> <br />Section 9. The deadline for a candidate to make applica- <br /> <br />tion to have his name appear upon the ballot for such election, <br /> <br />is hereby designated and established as five o'clock (5:00) <br /> <br />P.M., Wednesday, March 3, 1976. The filing fee for each <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />candidate for the office of Commissioner is hereby established <br /> <br />at Fifty Dollars ($50.00), and the filing fee for Mayor is <br /> <br />hereby established at the sum of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00). <br /> <br />The filing fees shall be used to defray the cost of the elec- <br /> <br />tion, and said fees shall be prorated and any surplus shall be <br />refunded to the candidates paying filing fees. As an alterna- <br /> <br />tive to paying a filing fee, a candadate may obtain a place <br /> <br />on the ballot by filing a petition as provided for in City <br /> <br />of La Porte Ordinance No. 968, passed and approved October 1, <br /> <br />1973, codified as Section 9-3 of the Code of Ordinances of <br /> <br />the City of La Porte. <br /> <br />. <br />
