There exists a public emergency requiring such. <br />action and I accordingly request that you pass the same if it <br />meets with your approval. <br /> <br />Very truly yO~S~ _ ~ <br /> <br />~~ <br /> <br />MAYOR OF THE CITY OF PASADENA <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 80- ;;l1I:L <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE ADJUSTING.;-TBE :'BOONDAR~I'ES OF THE CITY OF PASADENA AND <br />AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT ~ETW.EEN"'T.HE:,.e'lTY.OFi:.b <br />.PASADE:NA, TEXAS AND THE .CITY.:'QF ~- PORW..E!:i.- -TE;xA::~ WHIC'if'AMENDff THE <br />EXISTING EXTRATERRITORIAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE TWO CITIES AND WHICH <br />EXCHANGES CERTAIN TERRITORY BETWEEN THE TWO CITIESi AUTHORIZING <br />EXECUTION OF SAID AGREEMENT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF PASADENA BY THE <br />MAYOR AND ATTESTATION BY THE CITY SECRETARY, AND PROVIDING FOR THE <br />EFFECTIVE_DATE HEREOFi .REPEAB'ING-AND' RESC:INDING;:ORDINANCE :NOi~'80-1.73 <br />I'N ~ITS~"i'NTiR-ETYi - AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor of the City of Pasadena and the Mayor <br />of the City of La Porte have consulted with one another and, after <br /> <br />considering facts and conditions related to provisions of municipal <br /> <br />services, exercise of police powers and other pertinent matters, <br /> <br />have agreed and concluded that it would be in the best interests <br />of the two cities and of the inhabitants of the affected territories <br /> <br />for the boundaries of the two cities to be'so adjusted that certain <br /> <br />territory now located within the corporate limits of the City of <br />Pasadena be exchanged for certain territory now located within the <br />corporate limits of the City of La Portei and <br />WHEREAS, the mayors of said~ities have recommended to <br />the respective city councils thereof that ordinances be adopted <br />making provision for the aforesaid'adjustments and exchange; and <br />
