<br />, <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Ordinance No. <br /> <br />/ tJ' 3 ~ , Page 4 <br /> <br />Section 10. Section 8-21 of the Code of Ordinances of the <br /> <br />City of La Porte is hereby amended, to hereafter read as follows, <br /> <br />to-wit: <br /> <br />"Section 8-21. General and Building Contractors - Liabilitv <br />Insurance. No permit shall be issued for any general or <br />building contracting work, as said work is defined within the <br />Southern Standard Building Code, 1985 Edition, until the <br />general or building contractor or his employer shall have <br />arranged to carry the following insurance: <br /> <br />(a) Workers' Compensation insurance on each and everyone <br />of his employees as required and in accordance with the <br />provisions of the Workers' Compensation Act of the State <br />of Texas; <br /> <br />(b) Public liability insurance to the extent of <br />$50,000.00 for anyone accident, and $100,000.00 for any <br />one person;.and <br /> <br />(c) Property damage insurance to the extent of $10,000.00 <br />for anyone accident, and $100,000.00 in the aggregate. <br /> <br />Such insurance shall be written by an accredited company under <br />the supervision of the Board of Insurance Commissioners of the <br />State of Texas. <br /> <br />Ev idenc e of compl iance wi th the above in surance requ i rements <br />shall be considered as having been met when the policy, a copy <br />thereof, or a Certificate of Insurance has been filed with and <br />approved by the Chief Building Official of the City of La <br />Porte. Such policy shall include an endorsement thereon that <br />the Chief Building Official will be notified at least ten (10) <br />days in advance in the event of the policy or policies being <br />cancelled or expiring before the expiration date of the <br />license." <br /> <br />Section 11. A new section is hereby added to Chapter 8, <br /> <br />Article 2, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of La Porte, said <br /> <br />section being numbered 8-22, which is to hereafter read as follows, <br /> <br />to-wit: <br /> <br />"Section 8-22. Southern Standard Plumbing & Mechanical <br />Contractors - Liabilitv Insurance. No permit shall be issued <br />for any plumbing contract work, as said work is defined within <br />the Southern Standard Building Code, 1985 Edition, until the <br />plumbing contractor or his employer shall have arranged to <br />carry the following insurance: <br /> <br />(a) Workers' Compensation insurance on each and everyone <br />of his employees as required and in accordance with the <br />provisions of the Workers' Compensation Act of the State <br />of Texas; <br />
