THE CITY OF LA PORTE, HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS; PRESCRIBING PENALTIES <br /> <br />FOR THE VIOLATION HEREOF; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND TARTS OF <br /> <br />QRDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; PROVIDING THAT THE INVALIDITY OF <br /> <br />ANY PARTION OF THIS ORDINANCE SlUi.LL NOT AFFECT THE RE.MAINDEH .AND <br /> <br />D:ECLAHING lUT EMERGENCY. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ~\ PORTE,' TE:CAS: <br /> <br />Seotion 1 : That ordi.nanoe number 220t passed by the City Counoil <br /> <br />of the City of La Porte, Texas, May 4th, 1928 as amended by ordinanoe <br /> <br />number 240 passed by the City Council of the City of La Porte, Texas, <br /> <br />Ootober 12th, 1931, be and the sam,e is hereby amended, so as to <br /> <br />h:ereafter read as follows: <br /> <br />kll persons, firms, corporations, or reoeivers furnishing or <br /> <br />solling natural gas to domestio oonsumers within the oity limits <br /> <br />of .the City, of La Porte, Harris County, Texas, shall oharge suoh <br /> <br />domestio oonsumers for domestio' gas oonsumed the following rate for <br /> <br />gas oonsumed and the following deposit fee for meter and re-oonnection <br /> <br />oha:l'ge, and no more: <br /> <br />Seven and one-half oents (7t~) per 100 oubic feet of natural <br />gliS actually oonsumed; provided, however,- that a disoount of. one <br />oent (l~) per 100 cubic feet of natural gas so oonsumed shall be ' <br />allowed each oustomer who pays for said gas so oonsumed Wi~h n ten.____-----l <br />days after the mailing by person, firm, oorporation or reo. ver' I <br />fu.r:nishing or selling natural gas, of a statement showing oo:;::reotly " <br />the ~nount of gas consumed, whioh staten~nt shall be prope ry <br />addressed to the aonsumer at the address within the City of La Porte <br />w;~ere said consumer's meter is looated. To eaoh monthly bill for <br />gas so sent out there shall be added the sum of Fifty cents (50~) as <br />a "ready to serve'" oharge. Five Dollars ($5.00) may be required as <br />deposit fee for meter.
